The World Master Athletic Championships started off on the first day of the competitions (28.7.) with Cross Country, which was run at the beatiful scenery of the Salpausselkä Ridges.

Congratulations to all the World Champions so far, and the best of luck for the todays’ competitors!

There was an imposing group of athletes from all over the world at the Opening Ceremony of the World Master Athletic Championships in Lahti Market Square. The atmosphere was fantastic and everybody at the Market Square got to enjoy the sunny summer weather.

Yesterday the Minister of Culture and Sport Mr. Stefan Wallin opened the World Master Athletic Championships in Lahti.
