The Ambassador of Positivity and runner athlete Wilson Kirwa is testing the new running lane surface and affirms its high quality. In approximately two months time at the same Stadium,  Master Athletes will be competing in World Chamionships Athletics, 28.7.-8.82009.

The technical preparations for the World Masters Athletics Championships have been progressing according to the preplanned schedules.
- We have ordered hammer cages, hurdles, javelins and other competition implements for the upcoming Championships, tells Competition Director Hannu Nurminen. After the Championships in Lahti, the implements will be transferred to the use of the venues surrounding Lahti region. Read more »

The influenza A (H1N1) has spread from Mexico also to Finland. Finland is, however, well prepared for the spread of the virus, and the public has no cause for alarm. The current situation does not have effects on the organisation of the WMA 2009 Lahti Championships.
