On behalf of the city of Lahti, it is my pleasure to wish you athletes and friends of athletics a warm welcome to the World Masters Athletics in Lahti. Our city is proud to host the biggest international event of the year 2009 in Finland.
The organisation of the event is already in good process. Lahti has hosted many, successful major sport events. These World Masters Athletics bring a record number of athletes to Lahti. Our city has prepared for approximately 10 000 tourists.
